1. Brief Introduction of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC)
CNPC is a state owned integrated energy corporation, engaging in both upstream and downstream operations, oil and gas field engineering and technical services, and petroleum materials and equipment manufacture and supply.
CNPC ranked the 10 th of the world top 50 oil companies in “Petroleum Intelligence Weekly”, took the 69 th position of the world top 500 companies according to “Fortune” , and took the first position among the domestic top enterprises in the year of 2003.
CNPC's core business mainly includes oil and gas E&P and petroleum engineering technical services. In 2003, the total assets of CNPC is 97.7 billion USD, sales revenue is 57.5 billion USD, and profits is 8. 79 billion USD.
CNPC owns 13 oil and gas production bases in eastern and western China and supply more than 2.15 million barrels of crude oil and 2.4 billion cubit feet of natural gas to the society. In addition, CNPC also has 16 large petrochemical production bases with daily refining capacity of more than 1.6 million crude oil, annul sales volume of 54million tons of petroleum products and more than 11 million tons of chemical products.
So far, CNPC is operating 24776 km oil and gas pipeline network among which crude oil transportation pipeline is 9200 km, refined products pipeline is 2276 km and natural gas pipeline is 13300 km.
The oil and gas production of CNPC in 2003 took 64% and 69% of the total production in China respectively, the ratio of oil products marketing accounted for 43% of the domestic sales market.
At the same time, CNPC actively takes part in the international petroleum E& P business with oil development projects spreading in 4 continents and 18 countries of the world, and it has led into the scale of annual crude oil production capacity of 27 million tons, natural gas production capacity of 2 billion cubic meters and refinery capacity of 2.5 million tons. CNPC also owns 2677 km overseas transportation pipeline, 30 million tons of annual transportation capacity.
