7、Consideration can simply be shortened into a statement that it may be either a legal detriment to the promisee or a legal benefit to the promisor. This definition is reasonable and it provides the court with a criterion in settling the disputes on consideration.
8、Anything that is prohibited by the law cannot serve as consideration. Otherwise, such consideration is illegal and invalid. It is understandable in a drug trade where the subject matter used as consideration is illegal, and such consideration is null and void.
