回答:In western, if you want to visit a friend or teacher and so on, you must make an appointment to set up the place, date and time. This is to show your politness. Whereas in china, people don't need to make appointments .We visit someone even without calling first. This is our cultural difference. 还需被充什么吗?

He lived in the USA for about 5 years.
But in China, it seems not so neccesary.

Definitlly you have to make an appointment to see your doctor. Even it is an emergince you better call before you go to see your doctor.

Yes, you have to book before your visit in western country. But is not common in China. It's not necessary because we normally do not have a family doctor. It is acceptable to visit a teacher without booking. However,it is polite to make a call. So you'd betther to do so.
