Equivalent translation theory has a long history, it has apeared in the 7th century. Along with the time, equivalent translation theory is consummated continously. The author briefly introduced the history of translation, then discussed equivalent translation theory in details.
The author thinks that the target of equivalent translation is making both the readers of translation text and the readers of original text gain similar or basically similar information successfully including the main spirits, the practical activities, and the artistic conception based on basically translation or wholly translation (Different languages used in the translation text and the original text). Based on this target, the author thinks that Yan fu’s Faithfulness, Fluency and Elegance theory should be mentioned during Chinese translation history. This is the first whole translation theory in China, so it has historical significance. While Dr Nida’s“Dynamic Equivalence” has more effect on translation field. It indicated that “the relationship between the acceptor and the information of translation text should be basically similar to that of the acceptors and the original text information”(E.A.Nida, 1964:159). The historical achievement of Dynamic Equivalence is that it provides a convincing answer to the controversy between literal translation and free translation which has been a deadlock in western translators for 2000 years.
Moreover, the author briefly discussed on the two principles of Equivalent translation theory. The one is acceptor’s principle, and the other is equivalent principle, and suggested the problems presented in current Equivalent translation theory.
After the introduction of five aspects of the history, the content, the target, the principle, and the problems, the author clearly put forward that Equivalent translation theory will be an indiscerptible part of translation theory at last in his epilogue of this paper.

History of equivalent translation theory is of long standing and well established, have already appeared in the 7th century. With the passage of time, the equivalent translation theory is being improved constantly. Author after the history that simple introduction translate, it carries on to be comparatively exhaustive exposition to equivalent translation theory. The author thinks the goal translated equivalently, should be on the basis of basically changing or totally changing form of the original text (original text and translation use two kinds of different characters), let translation readers obtain the same or basically the same information smoothly as original text reader, including main spirit , concrete fact , artistic conception atmosphere. And according to this goal, the author thinks in translation history of China, it was Yan Fu's " faithfulness, expressiveness and taste " theory that had to propose. This is China's first comparatively intact translation theory, have epoch-making meanings. And it is enormouser to endure " reciprocal theory of the trends " of reaching the doctor and translate the influence of the circle. This theory is pointed out " the relation between the recipient and translation information should be basically the same as the relation between the original text and original text recipient " (E.A.Nida, 1964:159). Trends reciprocal historical contribution, until western translator locked in a stalemate literal translation with battle of free translation offer one another people convinced answer over the past 2,000 years. And then, authors have carried on simple exposition to two principles of the equivalent translation theory. First recipient's principle, second a reciprocal principle. And according to these two principles , point out the problem existing in the current equivalent translation theory. After making an introduction from five respects such as history , content , goal , principle and question to the equivalent translation theory, the author proposes clearly again , the equivalent translation theory can become an indispensable part in translation theory finally in this text concludes the speech.

Equivalent translation theory of history goes back to the seventh century ad, had emerged. With the passage of time, equivalent translation theory constantly improve. The author highlights the history of translation, the equivalent of a theory of translation is more detailed statement. The writer believes that equivalent translation goal is to fundamental changes or a complete change in the original form the basis (original and the translation is the use of two different languages), so that readers with the original readers : access to the same or similar smooth the same basic information, including the main spirit, the specific facts, identify atmosphere. Under this objective, the author considers the history of translation in China, but mention of the strict "letter, as, elegant" theories. This is the first complete translation of a more theoretical, and is of epoch-making significance. Dr. Naida and the "dynamic reciprocity theory" more significant impact in the translation profession. This theory that "recipient and in the relationship between information, and should be the relationship between the original and the original recipient basically the same" (E.A.Nida, 1964:159). Dynamics of the historical merits of, for two thousand years of Western translators deeper meaning of the word struggle with another person provided a convincing answer. Later, the author also equivalent to the translation of theory on two simple principles. One principle for recipients, and secondly to reciprocity. And on the basis of these two principles that the current equivalent translation theory exist. Equivalent in the translation of theory from history, content, objectives, principles and issues the following five aspects introduced, the author in this Conclusion again made clear that the equivalent translation theory will eventually become an indispensable part of the theory of translation.
