Zhu Ziqing
As I am expecting and expecting, the easterly wind comes and spring is within reach.
Everything is awakening——mountains greener, rivers richer and the sun brighter.

Grasses are sprouting in gardens and fields, delicate and verdant, enjoying the gentle breeze.
Peach trees, apricot trees and pear trees are busy blooming, with alluring flowers——red as fire, pink as rosy cloud, white as snow——among which bees and butterflies are singing and dancing, accompanied by colorful wild flowers like eyes and stars, blinking and twinkling here and there.
Spring wind does not sting. Indeed, it is like mother’s caressing hands. The gentle breeze carries the fresh smell of newly plowed earth, blended with the odor of grasses and flowers. Having built their cozy home among these flowers and leaves, high-spirited birds are singing their loving melodies. Cowboys are playing their joyful flutes.
As usual, the rain often continues two or three days, like cattle hair, embroidering needle or thread, forming a thin film waving all around. However, the leaves of trees and grass are in strikingly bright green. Night falls and lamps are turned on——gentle light and a quiet and peaceful night. In the countryside, some passers-by are walking under umbrellas along the paths and stone bridges, and some farmers are still working in the fields with bamboo hats and coir raincoats. Houses are scattering here and there in the rain, silent and pondering.
More and more kites are flying in the sky and more and more kids are playing outside. People from everywhere, downtown or countryside, old or young—— all come outside in a hurry just like for a gathering in purpose to enjoy the beautiful season and the beautiful weather. As a proverb goes “spring is the starting season of a year”, people have plenty time for making decisions and promising hopes for achieving something.
Spring is like a newly-born baby, new from head to toe, growing and developing.
Spring is like a beautifully dressed little girl, dancing and gurgling.
Spring is like a strong young man, leading us forward.
