Climb the mountain

　　Yesterday was Saturday. Lin Jiali and I came to the Nanshan Mountain by Bus 226. We climbed and climbed. We are thirsty and tired. We stopped to climb and drank some water. Then we climbed again. Look! The Nanshan Mountain is very beautiful. The tree is green. The water is clean. The air and the land clean, too. So we took a lot of photos. It was fun. We were so happy.

　　The next day,all of us got up early,we planed to go to another part of huang mountain.we would climb the mountain by ourselves without any guide,use our feet to conquer huang mountain!we had much strength,You know we are so young,so flesh,in our eyes,we are the master of the world,so we didn't think it's difficult!But just for a moment,we found we were wrong!
　　Maybe becausse we climbed a not very high but steep hill in the day before,just for a while ,we felt so tired that one of my roommates asked for having rest,although I have no experience on climbing mountains,I know very well that it will be more difficult if you have more rest!And you know,I'm always believe in myself,and I want to find and prove myself,so I kept climbing...Luckly,I met a man who also have the same destination as me.He has much experince,he told me how to climb more easily,and I followed his advice,and I found they wre useful.Meanwhile,because of talking,I didn't pay all my attention to my ached legs,It seemed that it 's more easy to climb.
　　Unfortunatly,it's raining ,and the wind was very strong! we must be careful to avoid any dangerous,acctually,some place were very horrible,my legs shaked while looking down the mountain,so high,But also,you will admire deeply the beauty of nature!the magnificent mountains,the steep peaks,the beautiful clouds,the green and strange pines...all the things were the craft of the nature,I can't believe it!How wonderful !
　　Of course,I will say something about the symbol of the Huang Mountain————the welcome pine!she was so busy,so many people take photos with her,she won't be alone,and I was wondering,if she can speak,whether she will protest or be gratful.Mybe she was a little tired because of so many people,so noisy.maybe she was very happy,because there were so many people accompanied her ,everyday she can see new people and fun things,and linsten to diffrent people's wishes ,maybe she has the task to decide whether to help the people to realized his/her dream.That's very interesting.Do you think so?

　　Mountain Tai

　　Mountain Tai is the first mountain in the five high mountains. It lies in the middle of Shan dong province, and in the north of Tai an. Mountain tai has a great momentum, the area of which is about 426 square kilometers and the top of which is about 1545 meters above sea level, so sometimes we describe a person, we also say that the person is steady like mountain Tai.

　　On the mountain Tai, Buddhism and Taoism are very popular, so many emperors of the past visited it. They built temples, mould statues, and inscribed characters on the stones, which left us many cultural objects and history spot. Some celebrities of the past also admire mountain Tai and come to see the sights one after another, which left us many famous poems and literary works.

　　If you want to reach the top, you must clime more than 7000 stone steps .the most famous and steepest road is eighteen mountain bends. Concerning about the origin of the name—eighteen mountain bends, as I know, It was that when a emperor come to climb eighteen mountain bends, he lift up his head and look at the steps eighteen times because of the long distance, then the descendent called it eighteen mountain bends, which is as high as 400 meters in perpendicular. There is more than 1600 steps in all. Eighteen mountain bends is the test of physical strength and will for climbers .on both sides of the steps, there are railings made of iron to prevent the climbers fall out of the valley and help to climb mountain, so it is not necessary for you to worry about whether it is safe or not to climb mountain tai. When you reach the top, all the things at the foot of the mountain are in your sight. Standing on the summit and having a deep breath, you will have a great achievement that you conquer the mountain through your effort. Suddenly you will be in a gleeful mood and broad-minded.

　　Mountain Tai is a very mysterious place for many people. Some climb it to make a cow to bless their family’s health, safe and sound and so on. These people think that there live a lot of immortals in the mountain, which can bless them. Although this is superstition, it pinches people’s good wishes. Other people climb it for its famous name “the first mountain in the world “. Its beautiful scene attracts many people. There are four natural remarkable spectacles. They are sunrise, sunset glow, cloud sea and yellow river. Besides these, four seasons in mountain Tai also have their own typical style .in spring, everywhere is green and lively. Grasses turn green. Red peach blossoms, white apricot flowers are everywhere. All kinds flowers are so beautiful and so many that the whole mountain become flower sea. In summer, the woods hide in the expansive cloud, once the weather is clear up, the mountain become green and everything is permeated with vigorous vitality. When the breeze blow, the pine trees send out gusts of sounds. It seemed that the sounds come from the sky. Autumn is the most abundant season of all. When you see the mountain from a far distance, the woods are dyed into all kinds of colors—red like fire, yellow like gold and so on. Many leaves fade their colors away, but the pines and cypresses are different, they are still green. As if they are the mountain’s guardians. When the winter comes, and it snow, it is another beautiful scenery. The mountain is very quiet like an old man seeing all the things below. The pines, cypresses on the mountain still stand firmly. Their branches and leaves heap up a lot of snow, which shine brightly under the sunshine. What beautiful seasons and scenery it is!

　　Every time you come to mountain Tai, you will get a lot.

　　Wuyi Mountain
　　The Wuyi mountain scenic spot situated in the middle of the Wuyi mountain range, within the boundary of Wuyishan City, has an area of 60 sqkm. The Nine Twist Stream, a meadering brook running nine kilometers through the mountain, is a beautiful, natural landscape painting.

　　Well-known for its scholars and poets like Zhuxi, Luyou and Xinqiji who visited and lectured here. As a result, a valuable cultural heritage has been preserved. A 3, 000- year coffin in the shape of a boat, known as a hanging coffin. And many stone and porcelain relics are kept on display. Wuyi Scenic Spot has been designated as a key national scenic spot.

　　Nine-Twist Stream

　　Originating in the Wuyi Natural Reserve and flowing through mountain valleys. The Nine-Twist Stream runs nine kilometers and has 9 twists in its course. The clean water moving past rocks and cliffs combines with the exotic peaks crowned by green groves presenting a real-life traditional Chinese painting.
　　It takes about 2 hours to drift down the stream by means of a very old type of bamboo raft. So this experience is unique and memorable. No visitor should miss the chance.

　　Dawanfeng(Great King Peak)

　　Because this peak is shaped like an ancient Chinese majestic official's hat, people call it Great King Peak. It sits commandingly at the mouth of the Nine-Twist Stream, southeast of the Wuyi Palace. Standing on the 530-meter peak, it greets tourists as they set out their trip. At top of the peak old trees grow thick, while on the eastern side you can see Immortal-Transformation Cave(shenzhen-dog) . According to Zhuxi, the great Confucianist, King Wuyi lived in this cave. A deep split extending from the top of the peak into its bottom is said to be the place where a special envoy in the Song Dynasty worshiped King Wuyi.

　　Jade Maiden Peak

　　Located south of the second twist and facing a big deep pool, this peak looks like a girl standing gracefully. The rock in Jade Maiden Peak appears skin-smooth while the dewy-green grass and tree sat the top suggest a girl's hair. As we look at the peak's reflection in the water, we can imagine a graceful, deep-in-thought, traditional girl, wishing for a bright future. This peak symbolizes the beauty of Wuyi scenery.

　　Heavenly Tour Peak(Tianyoufeng)

　　This peak stands near the middle part of the stream. Made up of three huge rocks, it can be seen from the third, fifth, and sixth twists. You can reach the summit along the path from Tea Plantation Cave(Chadong), if you can go up the 800 steps past the Clothes- Drying Rock(Saibuyan), you will finally reach the top, arriving at Bird's Eye Lookout(Yilantai). Standing here, you enjoy an panoramic view of the whole peace. The Tianyouguan Hotel, a graceful traditional- style building, has rooms for those guests who want to see the stars of the Milky way and the sun rise. This peak provides the grandest view of Wuyi mountain area.

　　Taoyuan Cave(Taoyuandong)

　　This cave is located north of the sixth twist of the stream. A cool, dark place, it lies at the center of surrouding mountains, an attractive setting. When you enter the cave, you will be plunged into the darkness, but walking another ten metres, you'll see a shaft of light. Then you will be looking across a peach orchard with a stone gate, a paradise away from turmoil of world. In the old days scholars came here to escape the cares of society. Now the old Kaiyuan hall has been remodeled as a hotel and small shop.

　　Dazhufeng Snake Garden
　　In Huanken Village of Jianyang county you cansee an unusual snake garden. The specially-designed garden with an area of 6,000 sqm metres , contains some 10000 snakes of various kind--the country's largest. The Wuyi snake medicine has become well-known at home and abroad. Facilities of the garden include viewing spots, a guest house, restaurant, and service department. In the souvenir shop you can buy snake wine, snake bile wine and powder, snake- skin articles, dried snake and snake oil.

　　Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve

　　This nature reserve is located at the common boundary point of Wuyishan City, Jianyang and Guanze Counties. It extends 52 km. from north to south, and 22km from east to west, enclosing an area of 570 square km and the mountains here are steep and heavily forested. Abundant rainfall and warm, humid weather give it a typical moderate sub-tropical climate, this is one of the five key nature reserves in China.
　　Forests cover 92% of the area. Bamboo groves number more than 80 and include one-third of the Chinese bamboo species. Among the 3, 000 to 4,000 plants growing here, 149 families and 1,899 species have been identified. This plant diversity led to the nickname "natural plant farm".

　　More than 400 kinds of larger wild animals, including more than 100 species of mammals, live in the reserve. Birds also thrive here, some 300 species being found in this wildlife paradise.

　　Located in the northern part of Jiangxi province, Mt. Lushan faces Yangtze River to the north and borders Poyang Lake (the largest fresh water lake in China) on the east. Overlooking southward on top of the mountain, the Poyang Lake is like a silver mirror. In the north, the Yangtse River looks like a jade ribbon flying to the east. The mountain consists of 99 peaks, of which, the major Peak Dahanyang rises 1474 meters (914.1 miles) above the sea level. Lushan is a hoist style fault block, which integrates mountain, river and lake into one unit. The picturesque mountain is famous in China and worldwide for its grandeur, queerness of shape, perilousness and elegance.

　　Lushan's views of the plains and the Yangtze are breathtaking. It is full of lovely trees, hills, pavilions, and old Tang pagodas and temples. Since the surrounding water contributes to a rainy and humid weather of the mountain area, Mt. Lushan is best known for three wonders: the cloud sea, the waterfalls and the cragged cliffs, which have been depicted a lot in poems. Sudongpo, a well-known poet of Song dynasty (A.D.960-1280), honored the cloud sea of Mt. Lushan for its ever-changing mist, which enable the mountain to pose diversely. In one of his poems he once pointed out: The failure to get the real looks of the mountain only results in the fact that you are right in the midst of it. In fact, the trick of Mt. Lushan is played out by the cloud, which shrouds the mountain all the year round, the dense fog hiding it from a clear view.

　　As a result of tremendous rubbing and grinding of glaciers, its grotesque peaks and cragged cliffs look all the more precipitous. Caves, floral paths, waterfalls, cliffs and gardens all present lyrical wonders. Most of the peaks are from 1200 to 1400 meters above sea level. Dahanyang Peak, the highest peak, rises 1,474 meters above sea level, is shrouded in clouds almost the entire year. Guling, a summer health resort, is located in the central Lushan at an elevation of 1,167 meters. Followed by Iron Ship Peak, 958 meters, which looks like a big ship. The misty peaks and craggy cliffs have also been the inspiration for many artists and poets. The Tang dynasty (618-907AD) poet Bai Juyi said that "the wondrous beauty of mount Lushan is surpassed by no other", which explains why so many people come to the mountains during the summer months.

　　The imposing and magnificent peaks, unique waterfalls, luxuriant woods, changing sea of clouds and pleasant climate make it a most famous summer resort in China and the perfect place for patients to recuperate. Roaring through the land, the precipitous and gorgeous Lushan wins itself the honorable title of the most beautiful mountain under heaven. With both natural scenic spots and historical and cultural Sites, Mt. Lushan is listed as one of the 40 best tourist attractions in China. The UNESCO listed it as one of the World Natural Heritages in 1996.
