He has no sister or brother.
=He has no sister and no brother.
Don't sing or dance.
=Don't sing and don't dance.

1. The process of oxidation in human body gives off heat slowly and regularly.

2. The whole equipment can be assembled and dismantled in a matter of hours.

1. Sound is carried by air, and without air there can be no sound.

2. After firing the torpedoes the forward part would lose weight and the submarine would be out of balance.

这时and=because,直接译为“因为”。例如:

3. Aluminium is used as the engineering material for planes and spaceships and it is both light and tough.

4. Reproduction provides new generations and makes possible the continuation of race.

Several disadvantages tend to limit the use of hydraulic controls and they do offer many distinct advantages.

1. When correcting, pay close attention to the seventh and last paragraph in the translation.

2. We have come to the last and most important step of the experiment.

There is no air or water in the moon.
There is no air and no water on the moon.

It is frequently asserted that sentences beginning with and or but express “incomplete thoughts” and are therefore incorrect. But this rule was ridiculed by grammarians like Wilson Follett (who ascribed it to “schoolmarmish rhetoric”) and H.W. Fowler (who called it a “superstition”), and the stricture has been ignored by writers from Shakespeare to Virginia Woolf. Members of the Usage Panel were asked whether they paid attention to the rule in their own writing: 24 percent answered “always or usually,”36 percent answered “sometimes,”and 40 percent answered “rarely or never.”See Usage Note at both, but, try, with

i don't know why Tom and u are here.
