这个问题不是find的问题：find him a clever boy中him是find的宾语，a clever boy是宾语补足语；find he is a clever boy中find后面是省略了that的宾语从句。
其他很多动词也有相似用法：Someone saw him riding downtown; Someone saw (that) he was riding downtown.
